BorikenSpharad Ladino Music Project 
     
With a music career of more than 25 years, for the last 15 years, Puerto Rican   ELYSHEVArleen Ramirez has devoted herself to the research of the Judeo- Spanish heritage and its cultural influence over Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Through her historical research journey, she has made fascinating personal discoveries as well as collective cultural connections that has led her to reconnect with her Jewish heritage and to create the BorikenSpharad Ladino Music Project. A scholar and musical project devoted to the research, restoration, and preservation of the Sephardic cultural heritage in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and Hispanic-America.  BorikenSpharad Ladino Music Project is a fusion of Sephardic music with Caribbean and Middle Eastern flavored cadences and melodies sung in Ladino or Judeo-Spanish language. With her single release Avraham Avinu, Elysheva has captivated the audiences and has established herself as the only Caribbean Sephardic/Ladino singer and researcher, and the BorikenSpharad Ladino Music Project as one of great cultural value to the Latin American and Hispanic community as well as to the Jewish community in general, and a legacy to the young generations. The singer songwriter performs and lectures throughout US, Puerto Rico, Spain and Israel, collaborating with musicians from countries such as, Puerto Rico, Spain, Israel, Argentina, Venezuela and US.
