Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico with Taino and Jewish Sephardic heritage, Elysheva Arleen Ramirez holds a master's degree in arts in Music and Opera Performance from the University of Central Florida. She has studied with singing teachers and singers such as, renown legend Italian Iride Pila, Mezzo-Soprano Madja Moreno, Dr. Raquel Montalvo, Dr. Evangelina Colon, Manny Perez, tenor Dr. Jeremy Hunt, among others, and Hindustani singer Deepak Kumar. Elysheva has also trained in acting, dance, and physical theatre with well-known performers such as: Puerto Rican actress Lola Pedro, Puerto Rican dancer Paulette Beauchamp and Spanish flamenco dancer Antonio Santaella, and the British Physical Theatre performer Danny Scott.

The Puerto Rican singer songwriter has stablished herself as a solid crossover singer mastering a diversity of music genres both as a performer and as a songwriter. The soprano has performed on the concert stage in opera, music theater, popular, flamenco, and Hindustani music. The versatility of her voice has given her the opportunity of singing a wide variety of music genres and train with singers such as: Hindustani music composer and singer Deepak Kumar and successful lyric vocal coach Manny Perez who has on his account opera singers, such as, Elizabeth Caballero and Eglisse Gutierrez. In the popular and ethnical music field the soprano has worked and recorded with several artists for over 15 years. She has toured the east coast of USA with a Berklee College of Music based jazz vocal ensemble group called Zonabo. From 2000 to 2008 Arleen was a performing artist and music teacher with Danzactiva Dance Company directed by the Puerto Rican dancer Paulette Beauchamp; ACE and HOLA award winner. The soprano has established herself as a well-respected performer in her homeland of Puerto Rico. Arleen has sung and recorded with important Puerto Rican artists and international musicians, such as, Tony Croatto, Silverio Perez, bass player Agustin Barreto, Bass player Ricky Encarnacion, percussionist Alex Acuna, salsa singer Ismael Miranda, flamenco band Fusion Jonda, Antonio Santaella, flamenco teacher and choreographer, and Hindustani singer and composer Deepak Kumar, among many others. Arleen was part of the Latin Jazz Vocal Ensemble "Sonabo" with which she toured along the East Coast of USA and Puerto Rico. She has also been a backup vocal and lead singer in some of the most important Reggae Music Bands of her native Puerto Rico.

Most recently she has been recording original and Hebrew music and has collaborated and recorded her music with Israeli singers and musicians such as, renown music producer and singer songwriter Yair Levi, among several others.
Besides music, her resume includes histrionic arts as well, as she has had the opportunity to work as an actress in TV, documentaries, and theatrical plays in Puerto Rico, US and Israel.
As part of her operatic career Elysheva has performed with Opera Orlando, Orlando Light Opera, Puerto Rico Lyric Opera, the Boston Conservatory Opera Theater, the Florida Opera Theater, and she has been a soloist with the Arlington Philharmonic, the Puerto Rico Philharmonic, the Interamerican University of PR Choir, and the Boston Conservatory Concert Choir. In 2012, she was the recipient of the PR Cultural Institute Award for young artists, and she was sponsored by internationally renowned tenor, Cesar Hernandez.
In the last 10 years the singer's music career has evolved into an academic research project connected to her Jewish heritage and identity. She has established herself as the only Caribbean Sephardic/Ladino music singer and researcher, and the only Puerto Rican scholar in this field. She has recorded Ladino songs with musicians from Puerto Rico, Spain, Israel, Argentina, Venezuela, and United States. She is the founder of the BorikenSpharad Ladino Music Project which has already performed in United States, Spain, and Israel.

As a singer songwriter, the Caribbean Sephardi artist has composed important songs that have served as theme for benefit causes, she has composed for other renown artists and most recently, she has composed original Ladino songs and translations from Hebrew to Ladino.
